The ZenMed Derma Cleanse system is an all-natural three-step acne solution system. Research has found a higher efficacy when separate cleansing, treatment and prevention/maintenance solutions are used. ZenMed's approach is a little unique in that their system incorporates a cleanser, topical gel solution and capsules formulated with herbal ingredients. These capsules are designed to control acne from the inside by regulating hormone levels, cleaning the endocrine system, detoxifying and cleaning the liver, and relaxing the nervous system.

We are skeptical about the claims of natural products that are taken orally. ZenMed does not provide any data or research in support of their claims for the benefits of the capsules.

Product Claims and Features:

The Derma Cleanse system begins with a gentle cleaner that removes dirt, bacteria and excess oil, leaving skin balanced and clear. Derma Cleanse contains no Benzoyl Peroxide which removes facial oils and cause the body to overcompensate and produce excess oil. Derma Cleanse Gentle Cleanser works with the body's physiology to keep it in balance.

The Acne Gel is a naturally-based topical treatment that attacks current blemishes by unplugging pores and eliminating acne-causing bacteria. The Derma Cleanse Acne Gel can also reduce redness, swelling and scarring that often accompanies acne.

Derma Cleanse Capsules are made from 100% natural herbs that regulates the internal imbalances in the body. The botanicals in the capsules combine to clear up acne from the inside by regulating hormone levels, cleaning the endocrine system, detoxifying and cleaning the liver, and relaxing the nervous system.

Directions:

Cleansing gel to be used morning and night. Acne Gel to be applied over affected areas up to three times per day. Capsules are to be taken two to three times per day with meals and a full glass of water.

Ingredients:

While the formula utilized by the Derma Cleanse Cleaner includes Witch Hazel and Chamomile, both of which have been found to be effective as topical cleansers, there are other ingredients that are not as proven. We are all for natural ingredients and keep an open mind when it comes to the medicinal qualities of herbs, however, seeing both what these ingredients do as well as some type of research data on some of these ingredients would make us feel a lot better.

The Derma Cleanser Acne Gel does contain Salicylic Acid, which research has shown to be effective in the fight against acne when used at its maximum strength of 2%. Salicylic Acid clears pores, eliminates many types of blemishes and encourages the skin's natural process of skin cell replacement.

Finally, the Derma Cleanse Capsules purport that a combination of Indian and Chinese medical herbs will support the skin against acne from the inside-out. As mentioned above, we are skeptical about this step of the Derma Cleanse system. We would like to see more information on the efficacy of the various ingredients in the Capsules that perform this function.
